I hope this posting finds everyone in good health and spirits.
Based on feedback from staff and some input from parents, I've decided it will be best to follow the State's mandated Stay at Home Order and remain closed until April 10—for now. I believe we can all agree that this is going to be a fluid situation and we're going to have to wing it based on uncertainty.
Staff will be paid on the school payroll through March 31. After this payroll, in order to help maintain the financial viability of the school, I will be directing the staff to begin collecting unemployment benefits effective April 1. These benefits are financed through employers' payroll tax contributions. Once we re-open for business then staff will return to work, cease collecting unemployment and return to payroll status.
Take care! We're all looking forward to a sense of normalcy, smiling little faces, and the sound of a bustling school hallway during drop-off!
